Alan Talib was born in Iraq, raised in Kuwait and shaped by Norway, where his family arrived in 1992. He now works from London and the Gulf. Two decades of moving between these worlds taught him that the Nordics and the Gulf want the same things from a partner, and prove them in different ways: one through documents and institutions, the other through presence and personal trust.
He founded NordGulf Alliance to bridge that gap. The firm helps Nordic and European companies enter Gulf markets, raise capital and build partnerships, and helps Gulf investors find credible European technology. Alan describes himself as energy-first: he believes energy has to be solved before other projects become bankable.
Ministerial meetings
Alan meets ministers and government leaders to discuss investment and the conditions that make it possible. In October 2026 in Dhaka he met Bangladesh's ministers and officials for power and energy, fisheries and livestock, health, food, shipping, water resources, railways, agriculture and the export processing zones. In June 2026 in Tirana he met Albania's Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy.
Speaking
Alan speaks on Gulf capital in Europe and on doing business across the Nordic-Gulf corridor. He has been a VIP speaker at the Global Family Office Investment Summit in Cannes (2025), Dubai (2026) and Lake Como (2026), and spoke at the European Private Wealth Excellence Forum in Athens in September 2026.
The book
From the Sand Dunes to the Fjords and Back (2025) draws on Alan's experience of building trust between Gulf and Nordic business cultures. It is available on Amazon, and chapter ten is published on this site.
The team
Alan works alongside Dr Ahmed Talib, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, who leads NordGulf Alliance's healthcare and life sciences work, and Patric Mackenzie, who leads the firm's Swiss operations.
