The Alliance

Built where two worlds meet.

Scientific rigour. Cultural architecture. Principal-led. Every mandate.

Our Foundation

NordGulf Alliance was born in a Dubai boardroom, forty floors above Sheikh Zayed Road. A Norwegian executive sat across from his Emirati counterpart, both reviewing identical projections, yet speaking past each other entirely. The Norwegian's efficiency metrics met the Emirati's questions about family connections and generational vision like ships passing in the night.

The most consequential transactions between Nordic and Gulf markets consistently fail not on merit, but on translation. World-class technology loses in rooms it should win. Capital seeking validated opportunities drowns in noise.

We founded NordGulf Alliance to close that gap. Permanently.

How We Think

Two tracks. One standard.

Every engagement runs on parallel tracks, commercial viability and scientific integrity. If either track raises a red flag, we stop. That discipline is why partners on both sides trust our judgment when we say yes.

Relationships first. Always.

Gulf business culture expects hours of relationship-building before a single term sheet is discussed. Nordic business culture wants data, certificates, and systematic proof. Both are right. We operate fluently in both, because we were raised in both.

Generations, not quarters.

We do not hand over a strategy deck and disappear. We build partnerships designed to last, because the families and institutions we work with think in decades, not fiscal years.

Our Capabilities

Cultural & Strategic Intelligence

Our principals carry native fluency in Arabic, Norwegian, Swedish, and English, with over two decades navigating the commercial, regulatory, and relational landscape of the Gulf, across boardrooms, ministries, and family offices from Kuwait City to Abu Dhabi to Riyadh.

Scientific & Regulatory Validation

Our scientific leadership brings clinical and regulatory expertise from within the NHS, combined with advisory roles across medtech, AI diagnostics, and deep-tech ventures. Every opportunity we present has been examined through the lens of someone trained to know that one unchecked assumption can change everything.

Capital & Institutional Access

Through our network of licensed capital partners, family office relationships, and institutional connections across the Gulf, Nordics, and beyond, we connect companies to the capital and partnerships that match their stage and ambition.

Execution, Not Just Advice

We sit in on meetings. We join negotiations. We co-present to investors and government stakeholders. Most clients engage us across multiple tracks because they want one partner, end to end.

The Principals

Direct involvement. Every engagement.

Alan Talib

Mr Alan Talib

CEO & Founder

Alan made his first sale at twelve years old, behind the counter of his mother's jewellery store in Kuwait's Salmiya district. That moment taught him something essential: business is not about the product in the display case. It is about the trust reflected in the customer's eyes. His mother rebuilt that business three times after revolution, war, and displacement. Each time she said the same thing. We do not build for today. We build for generations. That became his North Star and it has never moved.

Two decades navigating Gulf boardrooms across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar taught him that trust speaks different languages. Gulf partners expect hours of relationship building before a single term sheet is discussed. Nordic partners want certificates and systematic proof. Both are right. Alan operates fluently in both because he was raised in both.

Alan is embedded across advisory networks spanning the Nordic and Gulf ecosystems, working alongside sovereign entities, institutional investors, and family offices that are deploying capital into the next generation of sustainable industry and healthcare infrastructure. NordGulf works quietly and selectively. The majority of engagements come through senior referrals rather than marketing. We operate at the level where relationships precede transactions, where the right introduction at the right moment carries more weight than any pitch deck, and where both sides of a partnership trust that what we bring to the table has already been tested before it arrives.

Over two decades he has guided more than thirty Nordic companies into Gulf markets across renewable energy, biotech, sustainable technology, and healthcare infrastructure. He is the author of From the Sand Dunes to the Fjords and Back, which traces the cultural and commercial bridge between the Arab world and the Nordic region, and which circulates in the rooms where NordGulf operates. He has spoken at family office summits in Dubai and Cannes, addressing the investor communities that sit at the heart of the Nordic-Gulf capital corridor.

One Gulf partner put it plainly. You are the only advisors who sometimes tell us not to proceed. That is why we trust you when you say yes. That discipline, walking away when either the cultural or the scientific track shows a red flag, is what separates NordGulf from every other advisory firm working this corridor.

Ahmed Talib

Dr. Ahmed Talib

Co-Founder & Chief Scientific Officer

Born in Kuwait and raised in Norway, where he finished high school with one of the highest academic scores in the country, Dr Ahmed Talib trained at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland before completing postgraduate studies in cardiology and specialist qualification in family medicine. He holds membership of multiple Royal Colleges and has spent almost two decades in clinical practice across the UK, working across emergency medicine, cardiology, and primary care. His father, also a doctor, shaped everything. He taught Ahmed that medicine is not a career. It is a responsibility. And that you cannot treat what you do not understand. Both convictions have followed him from the clinic to the boardroom without modification.

That clinical career taught him something most business advisors never learn. One unchecked assumption can change everything. He serves as a senior clinical advisor to a range of healthcare organisations, from governmental bodies and established companies to startups developing clinically validated technology. His focus is on healthtech that performs under real clinical pressure with real consequences, not in optimised trial conditions but in the environments where medicine is actually practised. His standard has always been a surgeon's standard. Science is the brain. Humanity is the heartbeat. His father taught him you need both to create lasting impact.

He co-founded NordGulf Alliance after seeing the same pattern repeat across boardrooms on both sides of the world. Investors focused on market potential while overlooking scientific robustness. Nordic companies with genuine clinical evidence arrived in Abu Dhabi and left without progress, not because their technology was wrong, but because the conversation started in the wrong place. Every company that passes through NordGulf Alliance is pressure-tested scientifically and commercially before it reaches a single conversation. That filter has protected clients from ventures that looked compelling and were not, and accelerated those that were ready but did not yet know how to be understood.

His guiding principle is his father's. Integrity is infrastructure. It is the foundation on which everything else is built, strategy, science, and every partnership NordGulf has ever facilitated.

With over 30 years of commercial leadership across Switzerland, Patric Mackenzie is NordGulf Alliance's gateway between the Swiss business community and Gulf capital. Based in Zug, one of Switzerland's foremost financial and business centres, Patric leads NordGulf's Swiss operations, opening doors for Swiss companies seeking to access Gulf markets and for Gulf investors looking at opportunities in Switzerland and the broader European region.

Patric's career has been built entirely within Switzerland, giving him an intimate understanding of how Swiss businesses think, operate, and scale. He began his career at Neue Luzerner Zeitung in 1995, leading sales for regional lifestyle and special interest media, before becoming one of the pioneers of online advertising in Switzerland, building and selling the country's first digital advertising formats and playing a key role in marketing the very first Big Brother TV website at the turn of the millennium.

He went on to spend six years in senior product management at astramedia international ag, leading portfolio development and contributing to the strategic repositioning of the business, before moving into performance marketing leadership at Somedia Promotion. He currently serves as Head of Marketing at UP Group in Zürich canton, overseeing brand strategy and marketing across a group of three companies.

Switzerland's position as a global hub for private wealth, family offices, and institutional capital makes it a natural and strategic home for NordGulf Alliance. Through his long-standing presence in Swiss business life and his well-established relationships across the country, Patric ensures that Gulf investors exploring Swiss and European opportunities, and Swiss companies looking towards the Gulf, have a trusted and knowledgeable partner on the ground.

His entrepreneurial experience running an international sustainable real estate development in Punta Cana further gives Patric direct insight into the cross-border investment dynamics and investor expectations that NordGulf's clients navigate on both sides of the bridge.
